I have been fortunate enough to live in the beautiful waterfront city of Plymouth in Devon, all my life. Teaching Design & Technology at secondary school and also working as a Technician has given me much experience using many different materials. However I have always drawn and painted since childhood. Largely self taught, painting continues to be a great love. Since leaving the school environment, I now mainly paint in oil and acrylic but also enjoy the freedom of expressing my creativity in a variety of forms.
“Every creation begins with an invitation… to connect, to be real, to be free”
The inspiration for my paintings range from what catches my attention in the world around me, to what captures my inner world in the form of a picture, idea or emotion. I then try to faithfully create from this connected place… so my work is often narrative and inspired by beauty, offering glimpses of another world that whispers to the heart.
I have also learnt that the process of painting with all its initial excitement, hopes, frustrations and delights, is of equal value as the final outcome. An opportunity to reflect and slow down from life’s other demands – time invested into what’s important, as well as what is urgent. This helps me appreciate and celebrate the preciousness of life. Maybe my paintings will go some way toward doing the same for you. I hope you find them uplifting and thought provoking, encouraging you to stop, look, and listen to your own heart and the world around.
“Art does not produce what we see; rather, it makes us see” – Paul Klee

Who would have thought that since those far-off days in ADT at Marjon, you would have progressed to be such a stimulating artist!

I am looking for a Japanese “broken ” bowl and believe you make them. I cannot see any on your site. Do you still make them?

Hello Olive, thanks for your enquiry. The ‘broken’ bowls (Redeemed Vessels) in the 3D gallery section are all sold. I now make ceramic versions to the same theme and should have some more finished in about 2 weeks. Please do contact me at the link below if you would like to know more and have first viewing. https://anitacollier.wordpress.com/contact-2/
